Volume Alpha Soundtrack Review
1. Key
This is the first song. It rarely is heard or played in the game, but it is still a beautiful piece of music. It is a very sad song and feels so lonely.
The song is pretty basic. It starts off with distorted flute-like instruments playing a nicely paced melody. Some sharper, but still soft notes are played. This goes on for at least a minute before a final note wraps the song up.
2. Subwoofer Lullaby
This is the first song. It rarely is heard or played in the game, but it is still a beautiful piece of music. It is a very sad song and feels so lonely.

2. Subwoofer Lullaby
This is one of the softest and quietest songs in Alpha. It reminds you of walking near a stream at dusk, and hearing the water trickle.
The song starts with a soft yet strong, piano solo with an occasional melody that continues for about a minute. This is arguably the most well known part of the song. This changes into a haunting, slow, echoing melody. This part sounds as if it's coming a long way away. For half a minute this continues, than starts into another soft piano lullaby with strings that echoes in the original beat. This starts to fade out with a violin playing a low, almost creepy bass note, however the final notes of the violin is higher and more comforting.
3. Living Mice
A soft lullaby-ish piece of music, this is one of the calmest songs in the album and I love it. With sad yet beautiful melodies, this is a song I won't forget in a hurry.
The beginning is silent at first, the main chorus coming in slowly and softly, as a quiet, continuous piano solo. After several beats of the piano solo, a melody joins the chorus. The melody is mainly a distorted, stretched out keyboard solo. After more of this progresses, some strings join in with the chorus. This leads up to the main meat of the song, a soft group of violins joining the crew. After several verses, the violins and distorted keyboards leave the song, allowing the strings and the piano-chorus to finish it all off.
4. Haggstrom
This is my sister's favorite song out of the Alpha soundtrack. It is a cheerful, bright and bouncy song that encourages you to mine, or build, or fight.
Haggstrom starts off with a continuous xylophone piece that repeats rapidly. After a moment, some bells join in that same repeating tune, giving the song a more full feeling. More xylophones and bells arrive bringing the song to the main chorus of it all. Suddenly the song goes quiet, with only some distorted bells bringing in the tune. At this halfway point, the song changes it's main beat and tune drastically. More bells and pianos bring in a loud and bouncy, but sad and more depressing tune in. This fades out slowly, leaving the distorted bell to bring in the original beat to finish the song.
5. Minecraft
This is one of my personal favorites. It is probably the most played and popular song in the game. It is well known throughout the Minecraft community and is the key song in the game.
The song starts off silent, with the famous repeating piano solo that drifts in slowly, as if from a long way away. This solo continues on throughout the entire song. A quarter way through, some violins start to play a slow, yet calming and comforting piece. This joins the piano, forming the main section of the song. At the last quarter, the violins stop playing, and strings join the famous piano solo, playing the same tune. The tune fades out, bringing an end to the most famous Minecraft song.
6. Oxygene
This is another song that isn't played as much as the others are, but it is most certainly one of those trademark Minecraft songs.
It starts with a soft, barely audible melody, playing one note. A high pitched electronic chorus joins it and this continues for a minute before ending.
7. Mice On Venus
Another favorite of mine, this is an interesting song. The first half of the piece is slow and sad, yet the second half is bouncy and goofy. This is a true, trademark Minecraft song.
The song starts of with a slow, soft echoing vocal that goes on for half a minute. It sounds distorted and far away. This is joined by a piano solo that plays into a melon-chaulic chorus. The "first chorus", I call it. This is joined by bells and short violin notes. The piano and bells stop, leaving the violin to play faint, short notes for a few seconds, barley audible. At this point, the song changes it's beat, tune, and theme completely. It becomes bubbly and cheerful, with piano, bells, and drum-beats, forming what I call, "the second chorus". This goes on for the second half of the song until it fades out, with the piano to conclude the piece.
8. Dry Hands
This is the shortest song in the album. It is a sad, lullaby-like song. It reminds you that, in a singleplayer world, apart from mobs, and villagers and animals, you are well and truly alone.
The song starts with several soft, quite piano notes, barley audible. There is a pause. Than the main song begins. It's a soft, sad lullaby that continues from about a minute. The main theme is featured once more, and a piano roll finishes the sad, lonely song.
9. Wet Hands
Sister song to Dry Hands, this is another lullaby. It reminds you of walking through a river biome near your house.
The song starts with a soft piano chorus that continues through the whole song. A treble piano adds a melody that continues through most of the song. For several seconds a higher lullaby is added before the song ends.
10: Clark
This song is one of the game's more well known songs and is a trade mark Minecraft song. Whenever I hear it, I think of me standing at the top of a hill, looking down on a plains biome.
It starts off with a large group of violins playing in long, slow rhythmic beats that continue throughout the whole song. A bass piano starts to slowly join in the melody too. Treble notes are played too, as a chorus starts. This progresses out through the whole song. The piano stops, and the violins slowly fade.
11: Sweden
Another trade mark song, this is one of the songs that is played the most in the game. Another lullaby song, this is more-or-less another famous one.
It starts with a slow, quite bass piano playing a catchy rhythm that progresses basically through the whole song. A treble piano joins it with a different tune, and the two play a lullaby that plays until halfway through the song. At the halfway point, it all goes silent. Than a slightly bouncy piece of music plays the same tune. After that, the two piano melodies continue to finish off the song.
12: Danny
This my least favorite song in the collection of songs that I have chosen to review. A quiet song, it reminds me of a dark forest of pine trees.
The songs starts with another, quiet piano lullaby. An electronic melody joins the piano, making a temporary meaty chorus. This goes quiet after a while, to be replaced with a slow, distorted, rolling lullaby. After a few moments, the piano and electric chorus continues. The electronic chorus leaves, allowing the piano to finish off.
